One night in a Paris hotel will now cost you on average €206.
This means if you are American it will be $228 ; British £149 ; South African R2681 ; Japanese Y27418 ; Russian R13927 ; Chinese Y1429
Expensive? I agree.
According to a report by PricewaterhouseCoopers, a night in a Paris hotel at €206 means that it will be €50 more expensive than a night in a hotel in Geneva, Switzerland, second on their list. Third and fourth most expensive are London and another Swiss city, Zurich.
As for the most expensive city in Europe for a tourist, according to PWC, it is again Paris.
A day in Paris for a tourist costs €257. Geneva is again behind Paris at €232 and next are Zurich (€193), London (€182), Rome (€143), Milan (€131) and then Amsterdam (€125).
However, in 2015 the price of a night in a Paris hotel will increase, but by *just* 1.8%, whereas it will increase by 8.8% in Dublin and 5.6% in Madrid.
In 2016 the price of a night in a Paris hotel will again increase and this time with a 2.6% jump.
This means that Paris will retain its place as the city where a night in a hotel will cost more than in any other city in Europe.
So do you still want to come to Paris this year, but having to pay €206 a night is not possible?
I know where you can get a clean room in Paris for much much less than that: bed and breakfast – a night, 2 nights, a week – as you wish. If you would like to know email me here on this site.
