Planning a visit to France for 2015?

If so, then you would want to know on which dates you will find the stores, museums and castles closed because it is a public holiday in the country.

Here they are:
April: Monday, 6 – Easter (Good Friday is not a public holiday in France)
May: Friday, 1 – Fête du Travail (May Day);
May: Friday, 8 – Victory 1945 (End of World War Two)
May: Thursday, 14 – Ascension
May: Monday, 25 – Pentecost (Because Pentecost falls on a Sunday, the Monday is closing
July: Tuesday, 14 – Fête National (Bastille Day, France’s National Day)
August: Saturday, 15 – Assumption
November: Sunday, 1 – All Saints’ Day
November: Wednesday 11 – Morts pour la France (Honouring all who died for France)
December: Saturday, 25 – Cmas
December: Sunday, 26 – The day after Cmas holiday in regions Upper Rhine, Lower Rhine and Moselle.

Trains and buses will run though on all these days, and souvenir shops will be open.

You will also find a bistro, bar and restaurant open on these days.

Note that May is an odd month with all its closing days. Even we here in France are bored by all the public holidays.
